Dr. Smith’s expertise in administration, pastoral ministry, and teaching will build upon Master’s Academy’s mission to academically challenge and spiritually develop students to impact the world. Master’s Academy has served students and families in Indian River County since 1998. The school partners with parents to educate students with academic excellence while developing students of Christian character who demonstrate diligence, faith, steadfastness, brotherly love and liberty of conscience. Dr. Smith is committed to this mission and will continue to develop the school as a high-quality educational institution for all families desiring a Christian education for their children.
Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, Smith grew up in Durban, a large city on South Africa’s east coast. After college he served two years in the army under South Africa’s conscription laws and obtained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. He holds a Master of Arts from Indiana Wesleyan University and Master of Theology and Doctor of Theology from the University of South Africa.
Smith served 15 years in pastoral ministry in South Africa and the U.S. before taking a more prominent role in education. He has served at Faith Christian School in Rocky Mount, North Carolina since 2000 where he currently serves as Assistant Headmaster. His credentials also include Department Chair of Bible including instruction on Contemporary Worldviews, Dean of Students, and Social Studies and Bible teacher. Smith has been married to his wife Claire for 25 years. They have two children, Daniel, 23 and Tatum, 18.
