Was it wind? Flooding? The stress of preparation? A yes to all three! As humans we were created with the ability to reason and to discern what is good and evil. However, often in times of distress, it is human nature to rely on our own abilities to navigate the waters of “trouble and strife” often leading to feelings of being alone and vulnerable, bouts of fear, and periods of anxiousness. We want you to know you are not alone!
“Casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7 The Greek word here for “casting” means to throw on or to put responsibility on. We have authority from God to “put the responsibility on Him.” Why? Because he cares for us!
God has no rival! God has no equal! He is still in control. He comforts those in need. Our God will carry our burdens for us! “Even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.” Luke 12:7 “Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.” Isaiah 43:1
He knows you by NAME! The God of the universe cares for you! We have a God where not only can we “cast all our anxieties upon Him”, but He honors and invites us, with open arms, to lean into faith and complete trust in Him.
